Why did Michael Jackson turn white?

Hi! I am Shermaine. Based on my research, Michael Jackson turned white was because of his skin cancer- Vitiligo.

The reason for having patches on him was because of his skin disease. Vitiligo causes Vitiligo causes the the skin to loose its pigmentation resulting in white patches. There have not been a known cause for the disease but doctors and scientists suspect it the be due to the immune disorder. Michael Jackson contrated this disease before the age of 40.

His skin condition begins as most viltiligo cases do With the skin exposed to the sun. It is reported that it begins from his hand and hence he wore the glove so that is could protect his skin from being exposed to the sun and also hide the patches. Besides his hands, his feet, arms, face and lips.

Being a performer, having patches on him is not very nice so there for he went to have a plastic surgery turning himself white.

Before doing this project, I had always been thinking that he had turned white because of his influence from his father when he was young, but I was wrong. Being a performer, though he has fame and fortune, but he still suffered from a disease. Those people who did not no what is going on, they would start spreading around rumors which are not true and could influence and change the thinking of people or his fans. Even having to go through those rumors which could be discouraging for most performance, he did not disappoint his fans but always put up a fantastic performance. This I thing is something we could learn about him, being a positive thing and not influence by people’s words or thought.
